I shot the two photos that make this collage on unrelated assignments years apart -- a feature-story illustration in Bellingham c. 1971 and a demolition in Seattle c. 1975. The combination -- a classic example of synchronicity -- was inspired by a bumper sticker common throughout the Pacific Northwest during the '70s: "Goddess Is Coming And She Is Pissed." Later included in the collection of approximately 50 sandwiches illustrating "Dancer," it was one of only four such images to survive the fire. Tri-X, the remainder of the data consumed by the flames.
